We have a ton of other fun and easy origami for kids and beginners How to Make a Fortune Teller ![]() We will also show you some ideas on how to make them really unique – decorate them to become a shark, a bear, a tiger even – the fun will never end with origami fortune tellers! In this tutorial, you will learn how to make a fortune teller out of paper (origami paper is best, although you can cut a piece of square paper that will serve the same purpose). It certainly was fun, and even though we do love to share fun cootie catcher animal designs with you, the “basic” fortune-telling game still is our favorite. You’d write the name of boys and girls inside the cootie catcher (usually classmates) and then with the help of this DIY paper toy, it would be decided who is the “one”, a secret crush or something along those lines. One you’ve picked your last letter or number, the fortune teller opens the flap you’ve chosen and reads the fortune inside. Most of us used to make cootie catchers in school, where they were used as” fortune tellers”. There’s no right amount of times to do this, but you wouldn’t want to keep your participant waiting! Depending on the fortune teller, you may have to pick a second number or letter to open and close the cootie catcher again before they reveal the prediction. You can change this up by using an animal’s name, like “elephant,” or a month like “June.”Ĭhoose from the options shown on the inside flaps. If you happen to pick “orange,” for example, the fortune teller will open and close the cootie catcher based on the number of letters “orange” is made up of. Most cootie catchers place a color’s name on the top flaps. The other participant asks a question then picks whatever is one of the top flaps of the cootie catcher. If you’re the fortune teller, you’ll be the one holding the cootie catcher with both your thumbs and index fingers inside the pockets. You can start writing any “destiny” or “prediction” you want on the folded sides and see if it’s your lucky day! These answers should be applicable to any kind of question, whether that’s about mysteries, a secret admirer, magic, jokes, a trend, other secrets, tricks, and even math! Now you have your own cootie catcher! A simple, cute idea such as this will only take a total time of a few minutes. It should look like a triangle-shaped mouth that can catch cooties - hence the name! Rotate the paper to the side and pull out all the flaps, making each one look like pockets that can fit your fingers. On the folded sides, you should have inside flaps and outside flaps. ![]() Unfold it, then fold it in half again - this time from left to right.įold each corner of the paper towards the inside of the center. It’s one of the popular origami fortune tellers, which are also sometimes called chatterbox, whirlybird, or salt cellar. That said, cootie catchers are a kind of paper fortune teller that kids of all ages - even older kids - can have hours of fun with. Most fortune tellers work the same way you pull the string tight so that a line is formed and then let it go to “catch” a fortune. ![]() ![]() If you have backed up your data on your old Pixel phone using Google Drive or Google Photos, you can easily transfer the data to your new Pixel phone. However in late game it isnt too hard to build a paper and dye farm through a sugarcane farm and a beetroot farm. Of course the firework crossbows does have a few weaknesses:ġ:Expensive ammunition, every 3 shots of the firework crossbow costs 8 gunpowder, 7 dye and 1 paper which is absurdly expensive. Finally the crossbows natural ability to be pre loaded allows it to have a first hit advantage and is a good on demand weapon for emergencies or capturing opportunities. Additionally unlike the classic bow and arrow it works underwater. The moment you have more than 1 enemy the firework crossbows dps will skyrocket far above the ST locked bow and also the other 3 weapons. Remember that this is all ignoring the fact that we are talking about ST situations in which is the ideal scenario for the bow. Thus its dps will usually be higher than a bow. This allows almost 0s wasted to aim making its dps nearly identical in both theory and practice. This is due to its massive aoe allowing you to only need to shoot in the general direction of the target for it to hit. On the other hand in practical situations the firework crossbow will be usually fired immediately after it is loaded. ![]() Hence the bows actual dps in practice is lower than on paper. This is as in practice you will rarely be shooting the bow the moment you finish loading it as you usually have to take some time to aim, this is especially true against highly mobile enemies. Theoretically, the bow will have slightly higher dps than the firework crossbow but in practice the opposite is often true. Hence the main competitor of the crossbow is the bow and I have seen that most people believe that in late game the bow is simply better, but I disagree thanks to fireworks. Meanwhile the trident is really a jack of all trade master of none weapon, good for saving space in your hotbar but basically never the best choice for anything. As a ranged weapon it already has a massive advantage over the sword and the axe. Out of the five main weapons in the game (Sword, Axe, Trident, Bow, Crossbow), I personally think that the crossbow is by far the best. *Note this is about late game where the weapons are fully maxed out in terms material quality, enhancements, and ammunition.
